On April 11th, 2023, RAID Shadow Legends officially showed off a new Void Legendary champion, Claidna, for the first time. She is an HP scaling support champion in the Sylvan Watchers faction and the 54th void legendary to enter the world of RAID. We will get her added to our <a href="https://aftershockunited.gg/raid/champions" target="_blank">FULL OVERALL CHAMPION TIER LIST</a> as soon as we have time to test her a bit more in-game. We also have a <a href="https://aftershockunited.gg/raid/tierlists/void-legendary-champions-tier-list" target="_blank">VOID LEGENDARY TIER LIST</a> that will show her in context with all of the other void legendary champions. It will take a total of 11 legendary books to completely max all of her skills.

The first overall perception of her from most content creators and players within the RAID community, is that she seems pretty underwhelming for a new Void Legendary to be added to the game within the META of 2023. If she were introduced to the game back in the early days of RAID, maybe she would have been a nice addition, but within the context of today, she seems to be a pretty niche champion who won't be very exciting or account changing for most players. This can frustrate players because it means that the odds of getting one of the impactful Void legendary champion is now diminished, which is referred to as "diluting the pool".

It is nice that she gets the base 20 ACC because she will need ACC in her build to get value out of both her A1 and A2, which place Sleep, Decrease Speed, and Leech on opponents. Everything else is pretty normal with what we'd expect a support champion to have. Her base speed does seem a bit underwhelming given the rest of her capabilities, and it probably should have been closer to the 104 - 108 range.

The first thoughts that come to mind for Claidna's role in the game, would be mainly Sand Devil's Necropolis, Hydra, and Faction Wars for the Sylvan Watchers. Having a decently reliable Sleep on her A1 and an AoE Revive on Death mechanic with her A3, means she could definitely fit into some Sand Devil teams but probably won't perform quite as good or consistent as you think she might.

Her A2 is definitely a pretty solid support ability in the Hydra, having both AoE Decrease Speed and AoE Leech, while also healing all allies with a 3 turn cooldown when booked, but other than that 1 ability she won't bring much more to the Hydra.&nbsp;

For anyone who summons her that hasn't cleared the Sylvan Watchers faction crypt (once it launches), she could definitely fill into that team for helping players clear that content.

In conclusion, I think that the player-base in RAID Shadow Legends, is going to be pretty underwhelmed by Claidna as a champion as she is mostly just looking like a decent progression-type champion who won't be at all viable in PvP past the mid-game. We will continue to test her as a team, get her added to the <a href="https://aftershockunited.gg/raid/champions" target="_blank">OVERALL CHAMPION'S TIER LIST</a> and adjust her in our <a href="https://aftershockunited.gg/raid/tierlists/void-legendary-champions-tier-list">VOID LEGENDARY TIER LIST</a> if anything changes after being able to test her more.

One of several daughters from a poor, minor noble family with no heir apparent, Alice’s parents sent her away to avoid having to find her a husband, and then a dowry to pay him with. Incapable of affording the attention of quality suitors, they saw the Order as a place where Alice would be safe, as well as away from the sons of lesser families. Though it was a decision they made out of care, Alice resented them. Her faith in Lumaya was strong, but she had no particular love for the Order. Once there, her strong character, independent mind, and curiosity gave her a rebellious streak, and she was frequently disciplined for refusing to obey instructions and asking questions out of turn. Alice’s only solace in the Order was the Eternal Citadel’s many libraries and her fighting lessons. The first sated and grew her desire to learn more of the world. Her combat training sweated out her anger and prepared her for all the exciting dangers of Teleria when she would, one day, be able to venture out and experience them. One of the many places Alice learned about was Durham Forest. Huge, impenetrable, full of monsters and predators bizarre and ferocious; it was a land of wonders to her. She longed to see it. What was the best way to see the world? How best to use her talents? How best to live a fulfilling life? These were questions Alice asked herself every day. A life tied to churches and chapels would bore her. The discipline and regimens of being a soldier would restrict her. She wanted to travel, learn, investigate. She chose to be an inquisitor. This decision changed her life in ways she never anticipated. It set her on the path to hunting the Queen of Hearts, a Knight Revenant she hadn’t heard of at the time. It began with Alice interrogating a K’Lethi cultist with a red heart tattoo on the palm of his hand. His cryptic answers to her questions led her to books, which led her to cultists who led her to more books. She dug deeper when she read familiar family and place names in histories of obscure Kaerok nobility, of incidents of murder and exile, and family trees in crumbling tomes heavy with dust in forgotten, spider-infested manors and archives. Alice cried tears of rage when finally the connections came together. The Queen of Hearts was once going to be Queen of Kaerok but was spurned days before her wedding to the then prince regent. She had her hand in the destruction or ruination of many of her would-be husband’s descendants, as well as family members of his queen. One of those families was Alice’s, ultimately cast out of the court and stripped of swathes of their ancestral lands. Alice committed herself to destroying the Queen of Hearts that day, and over several years devoted herself to rooting out K’Lethi Cultists and their Knight Revenant masters. She burned nest after nest of them and kept hangmen in employment all over Kaerok, but her crimson quarry eluded her. That was until she captured the White Rabbit, a foul-mouthed, crude Demonspawn who served the Queen of Hearts for reasons known only to itself. Alice suspected it was purely out of selfishness. He proved her right. After an embarrassingly short interrogation, in which the leporid Demonspawn bit and kicked, swore and spat and defecated, he revealed that the Queen was in the midst of carrying out a new plan to take the crown of Kaerok she had been denied so many years before. She was heading into Durham Forest, to ally with or steal from the Insect Lords who lived at its heart. Alice’s heart pounded with excitement. Finally. She had never lost her fascination with the forest or her longing to go there. Now was her chance. Knowing through her work to bring down the Queen of Hearts that Durham Forest had played a vital role in the Cult of K’Leth’s dark origin tale made delving into its shadowy depths even more enticing. Alice had no idea what to expect, and that only made the adventure even more exciting. Durham lay but a few week’s march to the north, and she set off at once, her fluffy, long-eared prisoner strapped to her back. Stokk the Broken Lore Stokk was born among the Night Skewers, a tribe of cave-dwelling Ogryn living beneath the Dusk Hills. He left them to seek fame and fortune in Anhelt, arriving in Delanos confused but well-meaning. He did not realize he had arrived during a time when hatred of Ogryn was high across Anhelt — the rise of the Gaellen Pact and its promise of vengeance was stoking much fear and anger. Within a few days of arriving, having done little more than explore the city, he was captured by city patrolmen and accused of being a ‘Gaellen spy’, ‘frightening the populace’, and of ‘inciting disorder’. He was held captive, beaten and deprived of light and fresh air by the Delanos officials, and regularly placed in the stocks in public to show off what the burghers claimed was their ‘effective defense’ against Gaellen infiltrators. After Stokk spent over a year languishing in captivity, Gaellen invaders stormed Delanos and found him on public display. After the Gaellens determined Stokk was ignorant and harmless, a vengeful Ogryn alchemist called Vizug the Noxious claimed him. Seeing that Stokk was a member of the Night Skewers — and thus a skulking weakling in Vizug’s eyes — and that he had been foolish enough to have been captured by the League, Vizug treated him as little more than a heap of flesh to experiment on. Stokk, desperate to be accepted, agreed to serve Vizug’s living laboratory. Advances in his venge-fire alchemy and the grievous challenges of the Gaellen War led Vizug to envision a whole new use for his toxic compound, turning fanatical warriors – or condemned criminals – into living weapons. By having volatile compounds of fire and acid imbued into their own flesh, such a warrior could not be disarmed or safely captured. However, to endure the agony of being a living bomb on the verge of detonation, Stokk and the other prototype bio-weapons had to be drugged with stupefying, anesthetic compounds. This left them too passive and delirious to be effective warriors, so Vizug gave them additional tinctures to induce rage and frenzy. After many failed attempts he found a balance that created raving, fearless warriors who felt no pain. Gaellen commanders were happy to use Vizug’s alchemic compounds on the enemy, but balked at the cruel extremity of making their own soldiers into disposable weapons. As the invasion faltered and the Gaellens were pushed back, however, one by one they agreed to use any means necessary and Stokk was pushed into battle for the first time. He was a whirlwind of frenzied energy, the elixirs in his system making him implacable and unreasoning. Soldiers were melted and burned alive within their armor by caustic fluids that no amount of water could neutralize, their screams drowning out Stokk’s own wild, incoherent battle cries. The fear and chaos Stokk sowed allowed other Gaellen warriors time to regroup, heal their wounds, and maneuver into advantageous positions. As soon as Stokk was exhausted and his reserves of chemicals temporarily depleted, they surged forward to collect him and shatter the disorganized and traumatized remnants of the enemy. The Free City of Klodovic was destroyed after Stokk was smuggled into the city by night and set loose. Spewing toxins and burning acid, he poisoned half the city and set fire to scores of buildings, allowing the Gaellen forces beyond the walls to storm the city with ease. Stokk was eventually captured when Telerian League forces deployed a specially trained squadron equipped with magically protective suits, long catch-poles, and corrosion-resistant cages. Without the drugs that kept him numb, Stokk suffered horribly at the hands of the Telerians, who experimented on him in turn and pried from him many of Vizug’s secrets of toxic alchemy. Once they had extracted all they could from Stokk, the League sent him back to attack Vizug’s camp in an act of cruel, vengeful irony. Stokk was on the verge of finally losing control of the raging alchemical storm within him and, as Vizug’s guards desperately tried to stop him, he warped and bloated with poisonous fumes and searing acid, about to explode and surely cause catastrophic harm and damage. Moments before he would have detonated, however, the Arbiter appeared in a flash to absorb the wretched Stokk into one of her Shards. She had little love for Vizug, whose callous experimentation had created Stokk, but she could not allow the terribly unfortunate Stokk to be destroyed and forever lost. Partly she was driven by pity, to save Stokk and perhaps one day reverse his explosive decline. But she was also motivated by sheer practicality: if Stokk had been made irrevocably into a living weapon and was now constantly on the verge of self-destruction, it should be she, and no other, who should have the option to deploy him if absolutely necessary. Skraank was born with even more heightened abilities than those common to his kind, his long, bat-like ears allowing him to detect the presence of individuals from the vibrations they cause in the air. Conversely, while his large eyes allow him to see perfectly in the dark, even mild sunlight leaves Skraank blinded. When traveling above ground, he therefore adopts metal disks with slender slits that keep out the worst of the glare. From a young age, Skraank realized how different he and his people were from many other Ogryn tribes. He found he was quicker, more cunning, and could achieve far more by planning and stealth than others could with brute force. He delighted in pulling practical jokes, stealing, and generally sowing chaos. As he grew, the roles of thief, spy, and assassin came naturally to him and, not content with remaining forever beneath the Dawnmounts like so many of his tribe, he chose to walk abroad in the world and hire out his skills to those in need of subtle and deadly solutions to their problems. Skraank has mastered the art of death in numerous ways, and his weaponry reflects his versatility. He wields two short swords, Gizzard-Gouger and Gut-Gorer, with a speed and skill few other Ogryn – even those from Skraank’s own tribe — are able to match. Should these not be enough, he carries two long knives, former swords belonging to a knight of Kaerok that Skraank slew by driving Gut-Gorer’s slender blade through his helmet’s eye-slit. When a force of Toshiro’s warriors captured her, she pleaded for her life, claiming that she had been possessed by a Demon that had fled her body when it realized she was going to be taken. Toshiro had heard traitors lie many times and raised his great, two-handed sword to strike off Zezo’s head, but her next words gave him pause. She said that she had heard of his quest to permanently end the Demonspawn threat, and that during the years of her supposed possession, she had learned of ways of shriving a Demon from its mortal host. Provided such an act of powerful magic was performed with enough skill, the Demon could be bound to something — rather than someone — else, before it was banished to Anathraad. In this way they might be trapped for eternity, without the need for them to be continually monitored if they were taken prisoner. Such a claim was too good for Toshiro to ignore. While he threatened Zezo a painful death if she deceived him, he spared her life, and employed her arcane abilities against her former masters. Their first attempt yielded hopeful results — the sorceress successfully rent a Demon’s essence from the body of the mortal it had claimed, but it was banished to Anathraad. Toshiro ordered the experiments to continue. Even as the rebellion neared its final victory, he pursued his increasingly single-minded quest for a lasting triumph over the Demonspawn. The rebellion’s leaders were disturbed by his cooperation with Zezo, yet Toshiro ignored all their pleas he desist. He slipped into obsession, recusing himself from strategic meetings in favor of capturing more Demonspawn. Even his veteran warriors were disturbed, coming to only follow him out of fear that the slightest misstep would see Toshiro kill them. Not long after the rebellion’s victory, Toshiro captured a powerful Demonspawn named Vornspore and subjected him to Zezo’s magics. The creature roared as the sorceress mumbled her incantations, the combined sound making Toshiro’s teeth itch and nose bleed. Something in the voice told Toshiro not to trust it but, elated and overconfident, he embraced it nonetheless. The mortal host Vornspore had possessed lay on the ground, catatonic, nothing remaining of his own self. Toshiro raised his sword and brought it down upon the man. He felt strong, agile, fast, more alive than ever before. Cuts from the possessed steel never healed and the blade absorbed the enemy’s blood, draining their very life-force, which empowered Toshiro’s muscular vigor. The more he killed, the more he wanted to kill. He told no one of the whispers. When rebel leaders heard what Toshiro had done, they decided he had gone too far. Meddling in dark magics and enlisting the aid of a Demon, even if it was seemingly unwilling — it all pointed toward his corruption. As years passed, Zezo died, but Toshiro lost none of his youth and strength, something Vornspore gladly took credit for. From afar, he watched as Yakai settled into a new era of relative peace and prosperity. Vornspore taunted him with claims that Demons yet ruled Yakai in secret, and Toshiro’s bitterness over his mistreatment gnawed at him. He became convinced that there were dark forces still at play within the kingdom, which he had to expunge. Toshiro soon returned to Yakai, with the goal of ending the Demonic conspiracy he is sure lies at the heart of the realm. Yet this noble goal stands in contrast to a figure who now seems steeped in dark magic and hears the whispers of a Demon wherever he goes.
